Be a Volunteer!

Assisting in the Office

The Black Women for Wellness office needs help with various clerical tasks. As an office volunteer, you will help with filing, data entry, photocopying and other miscellaneous office tasks.  Office volunteers are on an "as needed" basis Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Event Volunteers

You can support Black Women for Wellness Fundraising Committee by assisting with a variety of fundraising events.  Volunteers help out with an array of events such as our annual Mother's Day Tea fundraiser (held in the month of May), annual Bring A Brother to Breakfast (held in the month of June), and other program-based events, on a "one-time" basis.

Outreach

Do you like speaking in front of groups or with individuals one-on-one? Would you like to tell others about the volunteer and charitable opportunities at Black Women for Wellness? Black Women for Wellness has community programs and is invited to health and wellness fairs, local community clinics, stores, clubs, schools and colleges, and other community-based groups to talk about the good work we do and to recruit new volunteers.  Outreach volunteers often work in teams and attend community events to help raise awareness about our services.

We will provide you with outreach materials about Black Women for Wellness, so that you will feel completely comfortable. This is a great way to keep your public speaking skills polished, while introducing others to the mission and message of Black Women for Wellness at the same time.

Suggested Volunteer Time:  4-8 hours per month

Age Policy:

Office
There is no age minimum for office volunteers. We especially welcome the seniors in our community to share their time, wisdom and expertise they have garnered over the years with Black Women for Wellness.  From time to time, Black Women for Wellness also has opportunities for younger volunteers.  If you are interested, please contact Denise Lamb.

Events and Outreach
The age minimum for our events and outreach activities varies by the event or outreach.
